HDA Celebrates Major Milestone at Leeco Estates in Leslie County
HYDEN, Ky. (April 16, 2026) – A project that holds promise and new opportunities for families in Leslie County is being unveiled to the public this week.
Housing Development Alliance, Inc. (HDA) will host a community celebration and groundbreaking event on Fri., April 17, 2026, at the site of its Leeco Estates subdivision, marking a major step forward for affordable housing development in Leslie County.
Located near Hyden and only miles from the Leeco Recreational Area and park, Leeco Estates represents one of the first modern, planned subdivisions in the county and a significant investment in the future of the community. The event will highlight the progress already underway, with four of the planned eighteen homes currently under roof, and will bring together local leaders, state officials, and community partners.
“This project is proof that strong local partnerships can deliver real results,” said Scott McReynolds, Executive Director of HDA. “We’ve worked closely with the City of Hyden and the Leslie County Fiscal Court to make this vision a reality, and we’re just getting started.”
The event will include remarks from local and state leaders, including Rep. Derek Lewis, as well as a ceremonial groundbreaking to mark continued expansion within the subdivision.
Since announcing Leeco Estates, HDA has seen a significant increase in interest from Leslie County residents, with over 80 new applicants seeking homeownership opportunities. The organization hopes to build on that momentum through continued investment and community engagement.
“This is about more than building houses,” McReynolds said. “It’s about creating opportunity, stability, and a foundation for long-term growth in Leslie County.”
Attendees will have the opportunity to tour a completed home, see homes currently under construction, and learn more about HDA’s programs and future plans for the region.
