Citizens Bank & Trust Offers $2,500 Matching Gift to HDA
Gift Supports Affordable Housing, Home Repairs, and Flood Recovery in Eastern Kentucky
HAZARD, Ky. (Dec. 15, 2025) – The Housing Development Alliance, Inc. (HDA) is pleased to announce that Citizens Bank & Trust Company of Jackson has committed a $2,500 matching gift to support safe, affordable housing opportunities for families across four counties – Breathitt, Knott, Leslie, and Perry – in Eastern Kentucky. All donations made to HDA between December 15 and December 31 will be matched dollar-for-dollar until the $2,500 match is fully unlocked.
This generous gift will support three core areas of HDA’s mission:
- Affordable homeownership, helping hardworking families purchase a high-quality, energy-efficient home;
- Critical home repairs, ensuring seniors and lower-income homeowners can live safely in their homes; and
- Ongoing disaster recovery, helping flood-impacted families rebuild and return home following the historic 2022 and 2025 flooding.

McReynolds noted year-end giving allows HDA to end the year strong and begin the next one ready to build homes, complete repairs, and support families across the counties it serves in Eastern Kentucky.
Founded in 1993, HDA has built over 400 homes and completed over 1,100 home repairs for low-income Eastern Kentucky families in need. The year-end match comes at a critical time as HDA works to sustain the construction of 60 new homes per year and complete at least 50 home repairs annually while long-term disaster recovery funding begins to decline.
