Donor Privacy Policy

The Housing Development Alliance (HDA) is committed to respecting the privacy of our donors and safeguarding the personal information you share with us. We value your trust and take our responsibility to protect donor information seriously.

When you make a donation or interact with HDA, we may collect personal information such as:

  • Name

  • Mailing address

  • Email address

  • Phone number

  • Donation amount and date

  • Any comments or preferences you choose to share

Federal tax regulations require us to maintain records of donations and donor contact information.

How Do We Use Your Information?

HDA does not sell, trade, rent, or share donor information with any outside organization for marketing or fundraising purposes.

We use donor information only to:

  • Acknowledge and thank you for your gift

  • Provide tax receipts and donation records

  • Share updates about how your support is making a difference

  • Communicate about HDA programs, events, and fundraising opportunities

  • Maintain accurate internal records and required financial reporting

You may opt out of mail or email communications at any time.

Your Communication Preferences

All HDA email communications include an unsubscribe option. You may also update your communication preferences or contact information at any time by contacting our Director of Development & Communications at mindy@hdahome.org or 606-436-0497.

Donors may choose to give anonymously. While basic transaction details (such as billing city and state) may still be collected for processing purposes, anonymous gifts are recorded and recognized as such.

How is My Financial Information Protected?

Access to donor financial information is strictly limited to authorized HDA staff.

Online donations are processed securely through Network for Good, our third-party donation platform. HDA does not store full credit card or bank information on our servers. All online transactions are encrypted while in transit.

Third-Party Service Providers

HDA may use trusted third-party vendors (such as donation processors or email platforms) to carry out essential operations. These vendors are required to use donor information only as necessary to provide services to HDA and to protect that information appropriately.

Donor Bill of Rights

HDA adheres to the Donor Bill of Rights developed by the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP), which affirms that donors have the right to transparency, confidentiality, respectful engagement, and responsible stewardship of their gifts.

A full copy of the Donor Bill of Rights is available upon request.
