Hope Houses

Homes built by the trainees in our Hope Building Program are sold on the open market, which means that potential homebuyers from all income levels are welcome to view and make offers on the houses. These houses have special features, including (but not limited to):

  • Open Concept Living Room & Kitchen
  • Kitchen Island
  • Master Bedroom with Full Bath & Walk-In Closet
  • Laminate Floors Throughout/Ceramic Tile in Bathrooms
  • Large Pantry/Laundry Room
  • Two-Car Garage
  • Back Deck

Not every Hope house has the same features. Some Hope houses do not have garages, for example. Other houses have two stories. It just depends on the design of the home we’re building, and in some cases, the homeowner. Those interested in owning a Hope house may contact the program and apply to have a home built. By getting involved earlier in the process, the homebuyer then has the opportunity to pick the floor plan and many of the home’s features and amenities.

Hope houses are priced a bit higher than other HDA-built houses due to their size and additional features. Please note that interested homebuyers who apply to own a Hope Building house are welcome to go to any lender or bank of their choosing. We suggest Fahe’s JustChoice Lending, but again, this decision is up to the prospective homeowner. All proceeds from the sale of the homes fund the costs of our training program. Please take a look at the galleries below to see an example of a Hope house we’ve built and sold and of a home in the process of being built.

Hope House - "The Alison"

Named for Judge Alison Wells, who presides over the Perry County Recovery Court, this house was the first home completed by the Hope Building trainees. It sold in February 2020.

Hope House Start to Finish - "The Jake"

This two-story home was recently built to the homebuyer’s specifications in Ary (Perry County), Kentucky.
