Volunteer Group Opportunities

Y'all come serve with us!

With pandemic restrictions lifted in the state of Kentucky (as of June 11), our Volunteer Program has resumed scheduling volunteers for the summer of 2021 and beyond! We welcome Youth Mission Trips, Adult Mission Trips, and College Mission Trips. We also love having civic groups, volunteer teams from local businesses, volunteer groups from local churches and churches from across the nation, and more! If your heart is eager to serve, the families of East Kentucky need you. HDA’s new homes and home repair projects are completed by our staff carpenters with local subcontractors, and we utilize volunteer labor for several key tasks, including:

Locations

Volunteers work at sites throughout Breathitt, Knott, Leslie, and Perry County in East Kentucky. These counties are listed as “distressed” by the Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC) and have some of the highest poverty rates in the nation. Most of our worksites are in remote areas, in mountain hollows, and on reclaimed mine lands. We also have worksites within the city limits of four mountain towns: Hazard, Hindman, Hyden, and Jackson

Requirements
