This year’s event will bring together community members and groups from local businesses, schools, churches, and more as we build a home from footers to finish in six weeks or less! This fall (dates TBA), we will welcome in volunteer groups each day to assist our carpenters in constructing the new home. By the project’s conclusion, we will present a beautiful, affordable home to a local, mountain family. Â

We also invite individuals, businesses, restaurants, government offices, and more to sponsor the Community House Raising event! If you sign up as a sponsor by Friday, Oct. 18, we will put your name on our official event T-shirt and list your name in a Thank-You ad in our local newspaper (and on social media). If you decide to sponsor the event after Oct. 18, we will be sure to publicize your donation at our upcoming Open House celebration for this new home! The Perry County Community Foundation is matching all donations now through Oct. 31 as part of their “Supporting Success in Perry County” program challenge. Your support will help us do twice as much for families in need of affordable, high quality, safe, and long-lasting housing – the family we serve during our Community House-Raising event and the many others we’ll serve throughout the year.
Our goal is to raise $5,000, which when matched by the Foundation will result in $10,000 for us to spend on making the housing dreams of mountain families a reality. When you give, you’ll be able to see the home you’ve helped us build and the family you’ve blessed.Â
