Improve Our Community
Our Days of Service are open to local volunteers only. Local volunteers are those folks who want to volunteer with HDA from Breathitt, Knott, Leslie and Perry counties in East Kentucky.
- We're seeking individual volunteers - not groups. Up to 5 members of the same organization, church, school, business, etc. may volunteer and are welcome to wear clothing identifying them as such (ex. a Summit Church t-shirt).Â
- Volunteers can serve on one or both days. Only 20 volunteer slots are available each day.
- Volunteers will be working on framing new homes, interior finish work, and home rehabs & repairs. These projects will be located in any of our 3 hardest hit counties: Breathitt, Knott, and Perry. We can't guarantee that we can accommodate your preferences but let us know if there's work you prefer.Â
- Ages 14 & up only please. Younger children may accompany you, but you must supervise them on the worksite at all times.
- The work day runs from 7:30 a.m. to roughly 4 p.m. Those volunteering are welcome to work whatever hours they can!
- Volunteers are welcome to transport themselves in their own vehicles to and from the worksite each day. Closer to the event dates, we will contact you with more details, including a meet-up location for carpooling, getting directions to worksites, etc. If you do not wish to travel to a meet-up location, all needed information can be emailed/mailed to you.
